About Joe O’Connor
Hi, I’m Joe
I’m the CEO and Co-founder of Work Time Revolution, a global consulting and research firm helping organizations redesign how we work - for the age of AI and for a better quality of life.
I work at the intersection of organizational effectiveness and human-centered design, helping teams shift from outdated, industrial-era systems to agile, outcome-focused models. The goal? Reduce overwork. Promote focus. Align work with real life.
Before this, I was CEO of 4 Day Week Global, where I led the world’s biggest and most influential four-day week trials - transforming the work lives of tens of thousands across the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, and Australasia. I also pioneered the world’s first private-sector four-day week pilot and co-designed its research with Boston College and University College Dublin.
My upcoming book, Do More in Four, will be published by Harvard Business Review in January 2026. It’s a practical, research-backed guide to making the four-day week work.
I’ve also served as a visiting research scholar at Cornell University’s ILR School, where I led research on work time reduction and future-of-work policy.
I bring over a decade of leadership experience in labor movements, think tanks, and purpose-driven organizations - bridging research and real-world change.
New York Mets, Knicks, Buffalo Bills and Maple Leafs fan. Dog Dad. Recreational football (soccer) and softball player. Politcal junkie.
Thanks for stopping by.
